About Me:

It is important you see someone who has the knowledge, skills and experience working with anxiety and depression. 

Hi, my name is Gursharanjeet Goldy Bhatoye; I prefer to be called Goldy. 

I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with several years of experience working within an NHS Talking Therapies service.

I am passionate about mental health, I have close ones who have been impacted by depression and anxiety. I am aware it causes immense distress and reduces quality of life.

Work, relationships and home life can be affected by low mood and anxiety. This leads to withdrawal and social isolation. 

In Powering Minds Therapy, I am here to understand your experience, difficulties, impact and in turn, I hope to support you in overcoming your depression and anxiety.

I like to practice what I preach, with my spare time I like to I go for walks with my dog, enjoy exercising in the gym and I value spending quality time with loved ones. 

Accreditation:

I am Accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). You can find me on CBT Register

Post Graduate Diploma Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (2017).

Long Terms Health Conditions training to support patients presenting with anxiety and depression (2017).

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) Therapy Part 1, 2 & 3 delivered by Michael Patterson OBE (2018).

IAPT Clinical Supervision Course (2019).

Experience:

I am passionate and driven to help and support others overcome low mood and anxiety.

I have worked within an NHS Talking Therapies service since 2013. Initially, worked as a Low Intensity Therapist before completing my High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy training in 2016, graduating in 2017. 

I completed Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy in 2018. EMDR is an evidence based therapy to support individuals presenting with signs and symptoms consistent with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/NG116

I also lecture on the Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at University.

My background, I am a Punjabi Sikh woman, representing the South Asian community. I speak fluent Punjabi and recognise the cultural impact living in a western society. 

I can adapt therapy to best support your individual needs.
